Facial Spider Veins

Facial veins are treated with Radiofrequency or IPL (Intense Pulsed Light).  Radiofrequency targets larger facial veins seen in severe rosacea as seen in the before and after spider vein photos below. IPL is useful for a diffuse red blush or the finer veins of mild to moderate rosacea, and is also used for pigmentation due to sun damage or melasma.

RF treatment eliminates larger facial spider veins.

What is RF Treatment?
RF treatment is a five to fifteen minute office procedure using radio frequency energy to eliminate large spider veins. One to three treatments may be necessary. You will appear to have tiny mosquito bites and redness in the treated area for several days.

Who should consider the RF Treatment?
RF treatment is for Caucasian (white) skin types with visible spider veins. These often occur on or around the nose. RF is not for the treatment of a diffuse blush without large visible veins - but these can also be treated in our office using intensed pulsed light thereapy (IPL)

How expensive is RF Spider Vein treatment?
The cost is generally $150 per session per area: usually one to three office sessions are required.

Will I experience any discomfort during the treatment?
You may feel a mild stinging sensation. We will apply a numbing cream to the skin ahead of time to reduce discomfort.
